It is learned that Indian student Shekharappa Gyanagoudar Naveen (21) lost his life in the war in Ukraine.Naveen, a resident of Chalageri village in Ranibennur taluka of Haveri district in Karnataka, was killed in a missile attack by the Russian army on the city of Kharkiv on Tuesday.
Naveen, who came out for food, was killed. This is the first time Indians have been killed in Ukraine since Russia’s invasion.
However, his brother Harsha recently expressed his grief over Naveen’s death to the media.Speaking to media he said, We cannot get back my brother Naveen, but at least save the survivors and bring them home as soon as possible’ he said.
Speaking to media on Wednesday, Harsha urged the Indian government to give more priority to repatriating Indian students stranded in Ukraine than to repatriate his brother’s body. Here their parents are reminded that every moment is spent in fear.“I want the government to bring home the rest of the students who were trapped there more safely than to move my brother’s body,” Harsha said.Shortly after sharing with them his plan to return home from Kharkiv, Naveen went out for food.Naveen’s father Shekharappa also urged the government to repatriate Indian students stranded in Ukraine.
