Kavitha is appealing at SC for an intervention in Bilkis Bano trial

Hyderabad 18 August : Dismissing the release of 11 convicts in Bilkis Bano case of rape from the Gujarat government as a shame, Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) leader K.Kavitha on Thursday appealed to the Supreme Court to intervene and immediately take action.
The representative of Telangana Legislative Council said that the decision to release perpetrators of horrific crimes like murder and rape on the celebrations of Independence Day has tarnished the significance of the day.

The former MP stated that the shocking decision must be withdrawn immediately so that the citizens do not lose faith in the law.no more cases that are similar to the Nirbhaya case, and no lady is forced to endure what Bilkis Bano went through.

The BJP government in Gujarat on Monday released all 11 individuals convicted of the assault of pregnant Bilkis Bano, as well as the murder of seven of her family members during the 2002 Gujarat riots, in accordance with its policy of remission

“This is happening in spite of the fact that the Central government has issued guidelines that explicitly stated that criminals who have committed a rape and those with life sentences shouldn’t be granted pardon,” said Kavitha, daughter of Telangana Chief Minister K.Chandrasekhar Rao.

She said she was of the opinion that the BJP government in Gujarat has shown insensitivity by release of the rapists of the woman who was five months pregnant Bilkis Bano, and the murder of her three-year-old daughter. This is not just illegal, but also against the human race.

“Being an asian woman, I feel the fear and pain that is felt by Bilkis Bano.

The warm welcome given to murderers and rapists after being released from jail by people who adhere to a certain belief system is a slap in the face of an equitable society. It is crucial to end this dangerous practice before it can take the form of an inheritance,” the MLC said.

Kavitha’s brother, as well as TRS working president K.T.Rama Rao on Wednesday demanded that Prime Minister Narendra Modi intervene and rescind the Gujarat government’s decision.

“If you really intended to speak about respecting women I ask you to intervene and reverse the Gujarat Govt remission order releasing 11 rapists” tweeted Rama Rao.

He was talking about the Prime Minister’s speech from Independence Day.
