Telugu Desam Party leader and the Municipal Chairman of Tadipatri in Anantapur District, JC Prabhakar Reddy, carried out a bhikshattana (begging) campaign in Tadipatri town seeking money for maintenance of underground drainage system.
He pointed out that Tadipatri municipality had once been a model municipality.
It is now facing a fund crisis to maintain the municipality.
Prabhakar Reddy said though he is the chairman of the municipality and also in-charge of Telugu Desam Party in the segment, he had to beg from people of the town in need of money for maintenance of Tadipatri’s underground drainage system.
Meanwhile, AP High Court has ordered a stay on construction of the compound wall for the Tadipatri Junior College, which is in front of the house of Prabhakar Reddy.Residents in the area approached the High Court saying norms are not being followed in construction of the compound wall.
Recently, the Tadipatri town police have filed a case against him and 13 of his followers.The case is about damaging property – 53 pillars of a junior college compound wall were reportedly destroyed, and holes were filled.
