After the never-before-seen floods, the TRS government is taking strict measures against encroachments.
On Thursday, TRS working president and Municipal Administration Minister KT Rama Rao warned that the government demolishes the Illegal constructions on nalas without prior notice.He said, from now on the State government initiates strict measures against the encroachment of nalas and tanks in Hyderabad.
He said the government is aiming to bring in the new GHMC Act in January or February that has the provision for the demolition of illegal constructions on nalas without prior notice.Reportedly, the State government is planning to initiate the Strategic Nala Development Programme (SNDP) under the Strategic Road Development Programme (SRDP) for removing all encroachments on nalas and tanks in Hyderabad.
The Minister has blamed the previous Congress government for the flood situations in Hyderabad.He said the Kirloskar Committee has surfaced during the Congress regime.
The Congress-led government hadn’t taken necessary measures though the committee identified over 28,000 encroachments on various nalas and tanks in Hyderabad.He said the TRS government has now taken the initiative to clean up all the mistakes done by the previous governments.
