Hyderabad : I-T raids at BRS MLA Maganti Gopinath properties

The Income Tax (IT) department officials are conducting raids on several properties linked to BRS party Jubilee Hills MLA Maganti Gopinath in Hyderabad based on alleged tax evasion.

The searches are at the businesses including chit-fund companies, hospitals, and other establishments belonging to the relatives and friends of Maganti Gopinath.

Around 6 am on Thursday, around 100 teams of the IT department including officials from Karnataka, Hyderabad, Odisha, and other places started the search operations in more than 40 places in Hyderabad.The raids are being conducted at Indu Aranya gated community in KPHB, SunShine Apartments in Ameerpet, Indu Fortune in KPHB, Yellareddyguda, and other places.

The searches are underway at the residence and offices of businessmen Prasad, Koteswara Rao, Raghuveer, and Vajranath, who are relatives of the Jubilee Hills MLA.Sources said that the IT officials also are carrying out searches at Pooja Krishna Chits located at Yellareddyguda and the residences of its directors Somepalli Naga Rajeswari, Krishna Prasad Doppalapudi and Pooja Lakshmi Doppalapudi in Hyderabad.Similarly, searches are carried out on Jeevan Shakti Chit Fund Private Limited located in Ameerpet and the houses of its directors Gutta Venkateswara Rao and Katragadda Ramesh and offices in Ameerpet.
