Daimler India aims to achieve carbon neutrality of 100% by 2025

Daimler India Commercial Vehicles, a German truck- and bus manufacturer, will increase its solar power generation by doubling, boost green power purchases, and switch to electric vehicles all within its plant near here in order to achieve its 100 percent carbon neutrality goal for 2025.

Chennai, Nov 12, : German truck and bus manufacturer Daimler India Commercial Vehicles will double its captive sun power generation, increase green power purchasing, change all its internal shuttles to electric vehicles in its factory close here, in pursuit of its goal of carbon neutrality at 100 per cent by 2025 according to a senior company official.He said the company will create mini-forests, reduce power consumption, increase the usage of biodegradable plastic in packaging by 50 per cent by 2025 and use only biodegradable packaging material for all internal distributions.

According to him, the company would create mini-forests and reduce energy consumption.It will also increase its use of biodegradable material in packaging by 50% by 2025.

The companys plans include creating mini-forests to reduce power consumption and increase use of biodegradable materials in packaging.By 2025, they will be using 50 percent more biodegradable products for packaging.

"Driving sustainability in our production and operations has been a key focus for DICV since our inception.Since our beginning, DICV has focused on sustainability.

Since its inception, DICVs main focus has been to ensure sustainability in production and operation.Our efforts so far have already helped us reach 72 per cent CO2 neutrality in our plant, and we plan to push this to 100 per cent by 2025.

The company plans to increase the green cover density of its plant near here at least 10 per cent by 2025 by planting mini forests of native trees and increasing biodiversity and 2,000 trees using organic farming methods.By planting miniature forests of native trees, increasing biodiversity, and planting 2,000 organically-farmed trees in the area of plants near this plant, the company hopes to improve its green cover density by at least 10% by 2025.
