Custodial death case: Telangana DGP Mahender Reddy meets Mariyamma’s son

Telangana DGP Mahender Reddy said that a full-fledged inquiry is being held into the death of Mariyamma in police custody at the Yadadri district Addagudur police station.

Recently, Telangana DGP Mahender Reddy visited Mariyammas son in Khammam.

DGP visited the family members of Mariyamma as directed by CM KCR.With this, DGP Mahender Reddy visited Mariammas son Uday Kiran, who is undergoing treatment at the hospital.After meeting Mariyammas son, DGP spoke to the media.

Speaking to the media, he said, "We are taking measures to prevent such incidents from happening in the state.Friendly policing is being implemented in Telangana.Police officials are advised to act responsibly.

He said the incident would be fully investigated and stern action would be taken against the accused officers." DGP assured the boy that they will provide assistance to Mariyammas family on behalf of the government.Earlier, the DGP spoke to Uday Kiran.

Uday Kiran said that he and his friend were injured by the police.Also, he said that police have severely beaten his mother while she was in the custody.

The DGP asked Uday Kiran for the information regarding the police officers who beat them on that day.
