New Delhi, Aug 14 : Rebuking Jairam Ramesh The BJP on Sunday declared it was the Congress and its top leadership is the real parent of Pakistan.The BJP also stated that the Congress cannot hide its misdeeds and refuse to be able to face the horrors of Partition which is a tragedy that it is the sole responsible for.In a string of tweets, Congress general secretary Ramesh declared that the horror of Partition can’t be used to promote hatred and prejudice.”The truth is that Savarkar invented the 2 nation theory and Jinnah perfected it,” Ramesh stated.
Reacting to Ramesh, BJP in-charge of the department of national information and technology Amit Malviya saidthat the two-nation concept was first proposed by Sir Syed Ahmed Khan, founder of Aligarh Muslim University, who proposed the idea in 1876, well before Savarkar was born (1883).Savarkar as well as the Hindu Mahasabha were in fact opposed to the idea of Partition until the end of time.”
He declared “Savarkar was even against the Bengal partition in 1905 and arranged the first national boycott of goods from abroad in Pune, in protest.He was cautioning the Congress against giving in to the Muslim League demand of Partition as early as 1937.” Malviya pointed out that Hussein Suhrawardy, responsible for the Direct Action killings in Bengal, Sarat Chandr Bose and Kiron Shankar Roy demanded a united and sovereign Bengal that would not go to India or Pakistan but remain an independent province with Muslim League Government and remain a Muslim majority province.
“It was Dr.Syama Prasad Mookerjee, who explained that it was a ruse in order to guarantee that Bengal eventually, with the majority Muslim League in the Assembly and the Senate, will choose to join with Pakistan.Therefore, he made the case of splitting Bengal in such a way that Hindu majority districts stay with India as the province of West Bengal.
