CM Jagan Emphasizes Urban Development, Road Maintenance, and Water Conservation

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S.Jagan Mohan Reddy conducted a comprehensive review of developmental initiatives and projects across several city corporations, including Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada, Kakinada, Rajamahendravaram, Kurnool, Kadapa, Tirupati, and Guntur on Friday.

He urged officials to prioritize the upkeep of urban roads, with a special emphasis on expansion and traffic management in Visakhapatnam.

The Chief Minister called for a concerted effort to accelerate ongoing projects in all major cities post the rainy season.

In addition, CM Jagan stressed the importance of water conservation and proposed that industries along the coast consider using desalinated seawater.

Officials provided an update, indicating that a significant investment of Rs 3,592 crore has been allocated for various developmental projects in Visakhapatnam over the past four years, covering roads, buildings, drainage, water supply, parks, street lighting, sewage treatment, civic amenities, and beautification.

They also briefed him on the upcoming construction of the new GVMC complex, a project costing Rs 100 crore spread across four acres in Mudasarlova.

Infrastructure development will commence shortly, along with plans for a modern park, a commercial complex at the RTC bus stand, a multi-level car parking facility, and sports complexes in Bheemili, Gajuwaka, and Anakapalli, with an estimated investment of Rs 300 crore.

For Vijayawada, CM Jagan emphasized the need for cleanliness around all canals in the city, recommending the utilization of modern equipment for this purpose.

Additionally, he urged the speedy execution of projects like the BR Ambedkar Smrutivanam and the beautification of the airport road and the flood-protection wall in Krishna Lanka.

Updates on Rajamahendravaram highlighted the successful completion of the beautification drive at Kambala Cheruvu and surrounding areas, with ongoing work in progress.

The Chief Minister advised officials to prioritize the beautification of the Havelock Bridge and expedite the construction of the flood protection wall in Nellore.He also encouraged the establishment of resident welfare associations to oversee the management of Tidco houses and stressed the importance of water conservation in the Jagananna colonies.

Furthermore, CM Jagan emphasized the effective operation of floating solar panels, sanitation equipment, and sewage treatment plants.He proposed training programs for staff, including students from Polytechnics and ITIs, to enhance their proficiency in utilizing technology for urban projects.
