Patna 24 August : The floor test in Bihar Vidhan Sabha scheduled for Wednesday on August 24, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) along with paramilitary forces scoured the premises of five lawmakers and parliamentarians in Bihar.The multiple raids were carried out in the context with the IRCTC land-for-job scam that took place on the premises of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leaders — MLC Sunil Singh, Rajya Sabha MP Asfaq Karim, Rajya Sabha MP Fayyaz Ahmed, Ex-MLC Subodhrai as well as former MLA Abu Dujana.
The raid took place at the residence and office of Sunil Kumar Singh, RJD MLC and chairman of Biscoman.Sunil Kumar Singh is said to be close to Lalu Prasad’s family.
He also serves as an advisor to the former CM Rabri Devi.A group of CBI visited his home, which is situated close to JD women’s college in Bailey Road and Biscoman tower which is situated to the west of the Gandhi Maidan.
In response, Singh said: “The raid was only conducted to cause us a lot of grief.The raid is being conducted under the orders of the Central government.
The timing of the raid just prior to the floor test in Bihar Vidhan Sabha is also significant.They have purposely picked the day of the floor test.”
Following the raid Following the raid, hundreds of RJD members gathered at the home of Sunil Singh and shouted slogans against the CBI and the Narendra Modi’s government.They also held signs.
A group of CBI officers searched the residence of official of Rajya Sabha MP Asfaq Karim in Katihar.The team arrived with an entire group of CRPF staff.
Another CBI team, accompanied by CRPF arrived at the residence in Madhubani of Fayyaz Ahmed who is the Rajya Sabha MP of the RJD.Separate CBI teams also scoured the home of Subodh R Rai, who was the former MLC of RJD and former MLA Abu Dujana.
This was the first time the reserve force of central government was employed by the CBI to conduct raids against the top leaders of the ruling parties.
Sources claimed that the CBI personnel were concerned regarding the local police.
This is why the Center was utilizing paramilitary force to protect them.
In the Agnipath protests, a total of a dozen BJP leaders were targeted by protesters.
Then the Narendra Modi administration gave security to nine Y-category leaders including the state president Sanjay Jaiswal, former deputy CM Tar Kishore Prasad Ashwini Chaubey, Giriraj Singh, Hari Bhushan Thakur and others.
The CBI believes that the Bihar Police can act according to the instructions of the Bihar government.
Therefore, it would be prudent to seek assistance from the paramilitary forces that are part of the Central government, said sources.
Responding to the raids Rabri Devi the former chief minister of Bihar stated: “BJP is scared of the power of Mahagathbandhan in Bihar.This is why the Central government has instructed the CBI to conduct raids against the RJD leaders.It is a ploy of the Narendra Modi government.
We do not have any fear of these kinds of raids.The BJP is looting the country and executing raids against the opposition parties.
“The nation is witnessing the deceit of BJP.The Bihar residents of Bihar are part of our family, and will provide the right answers in the near future.”
Neeraj Kumar Neeraj Kumar MLC and the chief spokesperson of JD(U) said: “The Narendra Modi government is using the Central agencies to smear leaders of opposition parties.The government of Bihar will show that it is the majority in the Bihar Vidhan Sabha and the Center is demonstrating the strength of CBI as well as ED in Bihar.”
Sanjay Jaiswal, the state BJP president, said: “BJP neither frames anyone or saves anyone.CM Nitish Kumar had complained about the CBI and raids were carried out today.Thus, he is answerable to them , not us.”
