New Delhi, Sep 1 : Discom BSES has signed an agreement with Bidgely, an American-based global company that is a leader in artificial intelligence (AI)-powered solutions, to speed up its journey towards a more sustainable and more digital future.BSES Rajdhani Power Ltd (BRPL) and Bidgely will work together in the creation and implementation of AI-based solutions that can be scaled to improve operational efficiency in various areas.
The partnership will allow BSES to create AI-based solutions that will improve the engagement of consumers, reducing in AT & C losses and further optimization of the cost of purchasing power as well as better management of the distribution system. It will also aid in create tools to promote the use of energy-efficient appliances in line with the patterns of energy consumption of consumers and the disaggregation of consumer loads on the level of appliances.
Bidgely will create and implement a short-term (day ahead) AI & machine learning (ML) algorithm-based forecasting tool that utilizes historical demand data from time series as well as weather and network-related inputs. This will assist in near-accurate load forecasting using supervised and unsupervised machine learning algorithms.
There are opportunities in the detection of EV as well as solar load since AI and ML are utilized to quantify and detect EV loads as well as rooftop solar production. This will aid in creating profiles of consumers who are likely to encourage the adoption of EVs as well as rooftop solar and aid in the design of Demand Side Management (DSM) programs to shift load by means of customized incentive programs and the efficient administration of EV charging in relation to the distribution network.
In connection with the partnership with Bidgely, Bidgely’s BSES spokesperson stated: BSES is committed to energy efficiency, the use of green technologies, and smart power procurement initiatives that result in optimized solutions for our customers and us.This partnership brings together two of the top players in their respective fields, and the synergies resulting from this will benefit consumers in an even more significant way and also provide us with information to tackle with new problems and capitalize the opportunities.”
