Anushka Shetty, a renowned actor, recently spoke with a news media about her latest film “Miss Shetty Mr.Polishetty” (MSMP) and her career.After her last appearance in the 2020 film “Nishabdam,” she took a break due to personal reasons.During this hiatus, she listened to scripts and slowly signed new projects.
MSMP is a romantic comedy, and Anushka mentioned that her character, Anvitha Ravali Shetty, is quite different from her previous role in “Size Zero/Inji Iduppazhagi.” Anvitha doesn’t believe in marriage, in contrast to her optimistic character in “Size Zero.”
The film’s director, Mahesh, and Anushka connected through a common friend in 2019, leading to her involvement in the project.Anushka emphasized that she is a director’s actor and enjoys molding herself according to the director’s vision.
Anvitha’s character in MSMP is career-oriented and not interested in marriage, which Anushka clarified doesn’t reflect her own beliefs about marriage.She believes in marriage but thinks it should happen organically.
Anushka pointed out that her character’s strong value system sets her apart more than being labeled as progressive.She believes that life decisions are complex and influenced by various factors.
Reflecting on her career, Anushka acknowledged the support of writers, directors, and producers for her strong female protagonist roles.She didn’t consider herself the sole reason for the success of such films.
Anushka remained humble about her contribution to films, emphasizing that it’s a team effort.She also highlighted the importance of recognizing the work of technicians and other crew members.
When asked about what kept her going, Anushka mentioned her continuous learning and openness to new experiences in the ever-changing film industry.
Anushka shared her excitement about making her Malayalam debut in a fantasy film titled “Kathanar – The Wild Sorcerer,” directed by Rojin Thomas.
Regarding future projects, Anushka revealed that there are a couple in the works but preferred to let the producers make official announcements.
