New Delhi, December 31, : .Recognizing the significance of Sikh voters next year in Uttarakhand Assembly elections, the BJP has taken every step to win their hearts.On Friday, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dahi and BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chug met a group of Sikh leaders and highlighted the work done by Narendra Modi’s government.
According to sources, the Sikh delegation received information about the opening of Kartarpur Sahib Corridor and the formation of SIT in order to investigate 1984 riots.
They also started work on Gurdwara Hemkund Sahib’s ropeway facility.The government had repealed three farm laws.
Sardar Ajmer Sing led the Sikh delegation.According to a source, “They extended their support for the party in the coming elections.”
Chugh tweeted that he had “Discussed the work done by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the Sikh community and the local Sikh population, as well as discussed the upcoming Uttarakhand Assembly elections.”
Tajinder Singh Bagga (BJP youth wing national secretary, Uttarakhand in charge), told IANS that the Uttarakhand delegation gave their support after learning about the work done by the Centre for the Sikh Community.
Bagga was also present at the meeting.
Sikhs make up 2.34 percent of the state’s total population.Sikhs make up 2.34 percent of the state’s population.They live in two districts, Udham Singh Nagar, and Dehradun.
There are 19 Assembly constituencies in these areas, including 10 in Dehradun.
Along with Uttar Pradesh and Manipur, the 70-member Uttarakhand Assembly, will be going to the polls in early 2019.
The BJP set a goal to win more than 60 seats at the upcoming elections.The BJP won 57 of the 58 seats in the 2017 Assembly election.
