Swetha Basu Prasad, the actress who returned to her Mumbai residence after spending two months in a Hyderabad rescue home following her arrest on charges of prostitution, has claimed she was innocent in the entire episode.She told media persons she went to the hotel on the day of her arrest to attend an awards function.
In an exclusive interview with national media house, Swetha hurled her anger and disappointment over the media for defaming her.The actress says that she is planning to take legal action against the reporter or media, who created a false statement and damaged her reputation.
She rubbished the reports that she was forced into prostitution.“When I was in rescue home, no one had the access to talk with me and how can I give that statement? I had no idea about it as I had no access to newspapers or websites for two months.Entire media falsely published a story cooked by some journalist who claimed that I’ve accepted that I was forced into ” she said.
Swetha attributed her grandfather death to the false media reports.
‘’ My grandfather died when I was in rescue home and was not able to attend his final rituals.Thanks to the media for telecasting cooked up news on me.My grandfather would have thought that I’ve really made a mistake.Entire media falsely published a story cooked by some journalist who claimed that I’ve accepted that I was forced into prostitution’’she added
Most importantly, Swetha was categorical when she said she did not need any sympathy.“I don’t want people to think I am cashing in on the controversy.Swetha informed to release a documentary being made on Hindustani classical music.
