Shortly after the Congress unveiled their initial list of 55 candidates, rumblings of discontent started to surface within the party.Some hopefuls who didn’t secure tickets expressed their frustration, even threatening to leave the party and oppose it in the upcoming elections.

In Kollapur, supporters of Ch Jagadishwar Rao, who had hoped for a ticket, vented their anger by causing a disturbance and damaging the party office.They tore down banners and removed Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) Chief A Revanth Reddy’s signage.

Unfortunately, Jagadishwar Rao didn’t receive the ticket; it went to Jupally Krishna Rao, who recently joined the party after being expelled from the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS).The party’s minority cell rallied behind Jagadishwar Rao, expressing their support and voicing their discontent with the party’s decision.

At Gandhi Bhavan, the party’s state headquarters, former MLA Mallu Ravi faced opposition from Congress Minority Cell leaders and workers during his press conference.They voiced their displeasure, asserting that candidates for constituencies in the Old City were selected without proper consideration.

Mallu Ravi, caught in the crossfire, left Gandhi Bhavan, clarifying that the situation wasn’t his doing.

In Medchal, supporters of Harivardhan Reddy, who didn’t receive a ticket, staged a sit-in and engaged in a heated argument with backers of Thottakura Jangaiah Yadav, whose son Vajresh Yadav was granted the ticket.

In Uppal, both Ragidi Laxma Reddy and Singireddy Somashekhar Reddy, seasoned leaders who had hoped for tickets, chose to resign from the party after a ticket was given to M Parameshwar Reddy.Protesting the party’s decision, Somashekhar Reddy went on to declare that he would ensure Revanth Reddy’s defeat in Kodangal.

Another ticket contender from Medchal, Singireddy Harivardhan Reddy, expressed feeling deceived by TPCC President Revanth Reddy, who had initially promised him a ticket.Earlier in the day, posters emerged in various locations criticizing Revanth Reddy, labeling him as “Ratentha Reddy” (Reddy for a price).

One such poster alleged that Revanth Reddy had received Rs 58 crore from some “58 members”.
