Addressing a public meeting in Kodangal after inaugurating a 50-bed government hospital in Kosgi, Harish Rao said the Supreme Court has rejected Revanth Reddy’s plea in the case and made it clear that the investigation should progress.

“The probe will move forward, and it is certain Revanth will go to prison,” Harish Rao said.

Revanth Reddy represented Kodangal constituency as a TDP member winning twice from there in 2009 and 2014 on that party ticket, and lost in 2018 after he switched to Congress and contested on a Congress ticket.

He subsequently won the Malkajgiri Lok Sabha seat in the 2019 election as a Congress candidate, and in the coming Assembly elections, is expected to contest from Kodangal.

The Supreme Court on Tuesday dismissed a plea filed by Revanth Reddy in the cash for vote case seeking to allow cross-examination all the witnesses, including the de facto complainant at a time, instead of the various various dates fixed by the ACB court.

Revanth Reddy said that based on the cross-examination, the other persons would try to change their replies.

The ACB had rejected his request in 2021.

Revanth Reddy then approached the Telangana High Court on May 11, 2021, which was not inclined to pass orders and directed the trial court to fix a cross-examination schedule and provide it to Revanth Reddy. The matter lay pending in the High Court.

Challenging the same, Revanth Reddy approached the Supreme Court, which had stayed the lower court proceedings. On Tuesday, a bench of Justice Sanjiy Khanna and Justice S.V.N.Bhatti dismissed Revanth Reddy’s petition and said the Telangana High Court decide the matter.
