Bollywood actor Vicky Kaushal is reportedly in talks to play the lead role in the biopic of legendary hockey player Dhyan Chand, directed by Abhishek Chaubey and produced by Ronnie Screwvala.The film was officially announced by Ronnie Screwvala on Twitter, with the announcement mentioning that it will showcase the story of India’s pride, with 1500+ goals and 3 Olympic gold medals.
Previously, it was reported that actor Ishaan Khatter was cast for the lead role in the film, but now the makers are considering Vicky Kaushal for the role.The report stated that Vicky Kaushal was impressed with the story and excited about the project.
The discussion between him and the makers has been ongoing for a while, but it has now progressed to an advanced stage.
This film will mark the fourth collaboration between Ronnie Screwvala and Vicky Kaushal after ‘Love Per Square Foot’, ‘Uri: The Surgical Strike’, and ‘Sam Bahadur’.The latter was also supposed to collaborate for ‘The Immortal Ashwatthama’, however, the details of the film are still under the sheets.
Vicky Kaushal has wrapped up the shoot for his film ‘Sam Bahadur’, directed by Meghna Gulzar, and expressed gratitude towards the team in his Instagram post.The film is a biopic on FM Sam H.F.J.Manekshaw, and Vicky Kaushal will be portraying the lead role.The film is scheduled to release on 1st Dec 2023.
The makers of the Dhyan Chand biopic and Vicky Kaushal are expected to take a final call on the shooting schedule and other formalities post Sam Bahadur.
