Amaravati 13th September : With Andhra Pradesh registering a significant increase in spending on cancer treatments over the past seven years, the Chief Minister Y.S.Jagan Mohan Reddy has commanded the health department to establish an oncology department in all medical colleges of the state.The decision, taken during the Health and Family Welfare Department review meeting on Tuesday includes the medical colleges that are being set up in the state.
“Build and strengthen the facilities for healthcare provided by the government in the state.People will be able to avail the Aarogyasri facilities in our hospitals.It’s a win-win for the state when we set up department of oncology in all medical schools to treat and prevent.This will provide us with more PG seats, along with the resources needed to treat patients at state-run facilities.” declared the chief minister.

Officials from the Health department informed the chief minister that state’s spending on cancer treatments has increased by four times since 2015.

They also said that 1,40,639 virtual accounts were created under the Aarogyasri scheme for patients who take advantage of these services.to allow the government of the state to put aside the amount of treatment that will then be debited automatically in the hospital account.

The chief minister instructed the health department to work towards eliminating the problem of anaemia in the state within a year.”Take it as an opportunity to strive to eliminate the totality of anaemia in Andhra Pradesh,” he stated while directing the officials to supervise the functioning of the Anganwadi centers.”Like Sampoorna Poshana, we will provide protein kits to severely anaemia sufferers,” the chief minister added.

The state government is set to announce the concept of family doctors The chief minister has proposed the appointment of an officer who will keep track of the development.

“Give incentives to doctors that are deployed in the tribal and rural areas.It is not true that there’s a gap in the recruitment of doctors.Utilize all the assistance needed and do whatever is required to be done to attract and keep doctors in the state hospitals as well as clinics.” the chief minister declared.
