Beijing 13th of September : Around 3.18 million visitors went to parks in Beijing during the Mid-Autumn Festival holiday, local authorities announced on Tuesday.The figure represented an increase of 56 percent from the same time in the previous year, as per the Beijing Municipal Forestry and Parks Bureau and the Beijing Municipal Administration Centre of Parks.
The total of the 59 events of culture were organized both offline and online to draw people, according to Xinhua news agency.
The celebrations include full moon appreciation activities, flower exhibits, cultural performances, as well as science-related fun activities for children and parents.
The Mid-Autumn Festival, the 15th day of August according to the Chinese lunar calendar was observed on September 10, this year, and ended on a Monday.
It is a traditional time to gather with family in China and during this celebration the people consume moon cakes, take a look at the full moon, and celebrate good harvests with their families.
