Kiev 13th of September : Over 73,000 people were evacuated from the conflict-affected east and southern regions of Ukraine in August the Ministry of Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories announced.In particular, more than 16,000 civilians were evacuated in one month from eastern Donetsk region as part of the evacuation that is mandatory as per the Ministry announced on Monday.
Additionally the 50,000 people who were evacuated from Russia-controlled regions in Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions in the southern Ukraine to the territory of Kiev, the statement said.
Ukraine began the mandatory evacuation of the Donetsk region in the middle of August, Xinhua news agency reported.
Ukraine’s Vice-Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk has said that the evacuation requirement could be extended to additional war-ravaged regions.
