“Grandpa I am so grateful to you for being my role model. You’re the reason that I create films today.I love you dearly and I am so grateful that to be here.”

Netflix director Ted Sarandos and Bryan Lourd, CAA, who helped to orchestrate the film’s megawatt change to streamer, were in the crowd of.The two-hour movie was played to the sound of cheers, gasps and roars of laughter that culminated in an uninspiring standing ovation of one minute.

The actors then took to the stage and addressed questions from the audience but the audience was urged not to discuss spoilers.

After a few quick questions (no, Johnson wasn’t using 35mm cameras. The production was actually in a hotel in Greece) A person asked the whole cast to gather and share their most memorable movie scene.

“Tell all in the crowd that you are” Cock cracked.

“Every thing is fine,” Craig said.

Hudson said: “I loved seeing us all come together. We did everything in separate sessions.”

Monae became emotional she said that it was the “scene that you didn’t witness.” The scene where we’re working on this film together.” Scream”aww” or “aww” and then laughter – from the audience.

A film enthusiast was interested in asking Johnson how it felt to create an film that is more intelligent than the people watching.

“My grandfather ladies and gentlemen,” joked the director. But he dismissed the notion.

“It’s intended to bring them on a journey instead of playing a game of chess. The time of the day, they are meant for sitting in an enormous crowd and enjoying yourself.”

The exuberant TIFF reception for “Glass Onion” is well-known to Johnson who premiered the film’s first “Knives Out” at the festival in the pre-pandemic era.The critically-acclaimed crime film was a box office smash with a gross of $165 million in North America and $311 million globally with an estimated budget of $40 million.Johnson directed the screenplay as well as the director, was awarded an Oscar nomination in the Original Screenplay category.

How do you at the very least allow cinematic lightning to strike twice?

“The phrase that I came back to repeatedly when I was discussing the first movie is’It’s a roller coaster ride not a crossword'” said writer, director and producer Rian Johnson in an interview with Tudum from Netflix.

“It’s an error that’s common in creating whodunits to assume that you’re writing an exercise in crosswords, and the fun is in the fact that the audience is actually going to look over the whole thing and work out the answers.”

Craig his scene-chewing performance, which was praised by the critics and was the only actor who will return for the sequel. It’s been just three years since the first and Craig believed he required to refresh his knowledge of the sly detective’s booming intonation.

“Before we began filming I was working with an accent coach for about three to four months.” Craig previously told Empire magazine.

“I did not remember the accent, and I didn’t want make a pastiche.I wanted to keep it as grounded in real life as is possible.”

While Lionsgate released the first film to the theaters, Netflix is now the legal owner of the Knives Out franchise, having purchased the rights for $450 million last year.

“Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery’ starts streaming on Netflix on December 23.

The film will be released in theaters prior to this date, however Netflix has not yet announced the date of its theatrical release.

However, a limited theatrical release is a risk as evidenced by the reaction in the theater.

Rian Johnson has a few more “Knives Out” sequels in his head.

“I’ll do it until Daniel (Craig) blocked me on his phone,” he told the crowd.
