Kiev 11 September : The sixth unit of power of the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP) was shut off from the grid at 3:41 p.m.on Sunday.It is in the process of preparations to cool it and transfer it to a colder state the Ukrainian nuclear energy generator -Energoatom.Energoatom.Energoatom has stated that for the last three days the sixth power plant has been operating in isolation mode with an extremely low capacity, supplying only the plant’s requirements and the majority of the ZNPP communications lines with the Ukrainian power grid were damaged by Russian shelling.
“On September 10, evening when the capacity of one of the communication lines was restored, it was now feasible to supply ZNPP with an auxiliary power source via the Ukrainian power grid.Thus, it was decided to close power unit 6 and move it to the most secure state -the cold shut down.In the case of frequent damage to the lines of communication with the power grid, the danger of which is still very high, ZNPP’s secondary power supply will be supplied by diesel generators and their operation will be limited by their technological capabilities and the quantity of diesel fuel available.”
On September 1st the International Atomic Energy Agency Mission arrived at the ZNPP in the city of Enerhodar, Ukrainska Pravda reported.

Sergiy Kyslytsya from Ukraine, the Permanent Rep to the UN has stated that the Russians tried to exert pressure on IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi while he was working on the report for the ZNPP.
