Seoul 11th, September : South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol will take part in the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II set to be held in London next week, the office of the President announced on Sunday.Queen Elizabeth II died on Thursday at the age of 96 after having ruled for 70 years.
The funeral of her state will be held on the 19th of September at Westminster Abbey in London, and Yoon will be attending the funeral in a statement issued by Kim Eun-hye, the senior presidential Secretary for Public Affairs.
The President is scheduled to visit London prior to the start of his planned trip to New York for the UN General Assembly from September 13 to 27, Yonhap news agency reported.
On Friday, Yoon expressed condolences over the Queen’s passing, stating, “She had a strong conviction in the cause of human rights and left many a legacy of dignity.Her warm heart and good deeds will live on in our hearts.”
