Kolkata 10th of September : As the counting of notes confiscated by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) from the home of the city-based businessman Nasir Khan and his son Amir Khan in connection with the mobile gaming app scam continues on Saturday night further Trinamool Congress leaders are coming up with their own arguments to critique the central agency’s action.According to sources, more than 16 crore rupees have been retrieved to date from the Garden Reach residence of Amir Khan who is believed to have launched an app for mobile gaming dubbed E-Nuggets which was developed to achieve the goal of making money off the general public.
A veteran Trinamool leader and three-time Lok Sabha member Saugata Roy said that the ED raids are a deliberate attempt to sever the Trinamool Congress from receiving any help from the business world in the near future.
“This is not just a case in the case of Trinamool Congress.
This can happen in any state that is not controlled by the BJP.The concept is to conduct searches and raids operations on the premises of businessmen in order to are not able to aid the Trinamool in the future. But in the end, these tactics are not going to work. There have been a variety of actions taken by the central government agencies in the state. However, nothing took place,” Roy said.
In the afternoon of Saturday in the afternoon, when the total amount to be recovered was at least Rs 8 crore, the state minister as well as Kolkata Mayor Firhad Hakim said the continuous raids and search operations conducted by the central agencies in his view are part of the Union government and BJP’s scheme to portray West Bengal in bad light and to slash West Bengal’s economic growth.
As an aside, the residence of Nasir Khan and Amir Khan at Shahi Astabal Lane in Garden Reach falls under the Kolkata Port Assembly constituency, which is managed by Hakim since the year 2011.
However, ED sources said that Amir Khan, who is the brains behind developing and the launch of the mobile gaming app that cheated people of hundreds of thousands of rupees, has fled as well as his mobile phone have been shut down since Saturday morning.
ED officers are interrogating relatives of his to discover his whereabouts.
The opposition has begun attacking Hakim for his alleged connection with Nasir Khan.
Hakim has stated that the recovery of funds from the home of the businessman who is within his area of responsibility does not mean that he is an accomplice in the matter.
ED began conducting raids on the morning of Saturday under the guidelines of Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) at six locations in Kolkata.
According to reports the case was registered by the Park Street police station based on a complaint made by Federal Bank authorities against Aamir Khan and other.
“Amir Khan was the man who launched a mobile gaming app called E-Nuggets which was designed to serve the purpose of fraud against the public.
At the beginning when users were rewarded with commissions, and the funds in the wallet was able to be removed in an easy method. This gave initial confidence to users, who began investing larger amounts to earn a higher percentage of commissions as well as a higher amount of purchases,” said an ED official.
The official stated that after collecting large sums from the public and a large number of users, all of an abrupt withdrawal from the app was stopped on one or the other.
Then all information, including profile information was deleted from the server that hosted the app.
