Kolkata 10th of September : The afternoon of Saturday as Enforcement Directorate (ED) sleuths were conducting raids on the home of businessman from the city, Nasir Khan, and his son Amir Khan, two senior ministers of the West Bengal cabinet described the central agency’s actions as an attempt of the Union government to destabilize the economy of the state. “These constant raids and search operations conducted by the central agencies in my view are part of the Union government and BJP’s plan to paint West Bengal in bad light and to harm the state’s economic system.
We often receive reports of taxes on income being seized being conducted at the homes of entrepreneurs in Kolkata. However, those raids don’t result in any sort of recovery.I’m not sure what to say in instances where there is a recovery. But , such excessive central agency actions in my view, is an attempt to project an image of negativity about West Bengal to potential investors,” said the state commerce and industries minister as well as the Kolkata mayor, Firhad Hakim.
When he made the statement at the time, the sum of cash that was retrieved from Nasir Khan’s home in Shahi Astabal Lane in Garden ReachAarea located on the southern edge of Kolkata was increased to around 8 crore rupees, even as the process of counting of notes was on.
Minister of state transport Snehasish Chakraborty has said that the excessive use of ED and CBI by the Union government with the intention of influencing politics is ruining the credibility of these central agencies.”Central agencies should be utilized carefully,” he added.
However, the remarks of Minister Arun have drawn criticism from the opposition party’s leader. The CPI(M) central committee member Sujan Chakraborty, said that untrusted and illegally earned cash is all over in West Bengal.”Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is operating an entire regime of forgery in this state,” he said.
State Congress president, Adhir Ranjan Cho0wdhury, said that money that is not accounted for can be traced to the homes of every Trinamool Congress leaders.”We have seen the same incident in the instance of the teacher recruitment scams in the state.I don’t know what the chief minister’s statement will be right now,” he said.
