New Delhi, Sep 9 : The Government of India has decalred one day of state mourning to pay a tribute of honor to Queen Elizabeth II who died in the Balmoral Castle in Scotland on Thursday, at the age of 96.
The flag of India will fly at half-mast every Sunday throughout India and there is no official entertainment program on the day, according to an announcement from the government on Friday.

Britain is celebrating a 10-day state of mourning to honor Queen Elizabeth II.The royal family of Britain will observe a time of mourning that will conclude on the seventh day following the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II.The time of the funeral has yet to be determined.

President Droupadi Murmu and Premier Minister Narendra Modi, and Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar along with others, have expressed their condolences on the death of Queen Elizabeth II.In their message, they mentioned that she was an unwavering champion of our times, an empathetic person and offered inspirational leadership to her country and her people.

The renowned “dabbawala” (tiffin-carrier) group of Mumbai In the meantime, they mourned the death of the queen on Friday.

The chairman of Nutan Mumbai Tiffin Box Suppliers Association Charitable Trust, Ulhas Muke, stated that the dabbawalas of Mumbai had a close bond with the royal family of Britain.

Tibetan spiritual leader The Dalai Lama, also mourned the passing of Britain’s longest-serving monarch who was the the heir to the crown for a period of 70 years.
