Panaji 9th September : Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Thursday stated that the establishment of the Training, Internship and Placement (TIP) cell has the goal of providing jobs to the young people of the state’s coastal region in the industry sector.Sawant was speaking shortly after launching the TIP cell of the Directorate of Higher Education in the capital city of the state Panaji.
“The establishment of the TIP cell with the tagline “Inspire to Aspire’ a program under the New Education Policy by the Directorate of Higher Education, is designed to provide jobs to the youth of Goa in the field of manufacturing,” he added.
He claimed that the Directorate of Higher Education from the past three years has conducted the placement drive for B.Sc Computer Science students of different colleges, which resulted in the recruitment of nearly 40 students from the IT field.
Sawant acknowledged the representatives of different IT industries to provide employment opportunities to IT students in the state.
“Government has made available the right infrastructure to the industry sector to run their businesses in Goa.Industries in the IT sector in partnership with the state government via the TIP cell of the Directorate of Higher Education have been working to provide jobs to Goa’s young people of Goa,” he added.
The 40 students who received a placement from the IT industry in Goa and are currently employed, were issued invitation letters from the Chief Minister.
Through the TIP initiative, students who were enrolled in IT courses from different colleges were invited to participate in the placement drive and as a result 40 students were recruited directly and were issued offer letters.
