The party will hold meetings in all six regions of organisation and then hold meetings in divisions, districts and finally at the booth level , to develop an electoral strategy for civic polls that are deemed important prior to the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

The meetings are scheduled to take place presided over by UP BJP chief Bhupendra Chaudhary and the state general secretary (organisation) Dharampal Singh Saini.

In the 2017 local bodies elections, the BJP has won 14 of 16 municipal corporations.

However in the case of the NPP the party was able to only win 47 of the 198 seats.

The Samajwadi Party won 29, BSP 18 and Congress five. The remaining of the seats were won by independents.

In the election for the 438 Nagar panchayat chairman the ruling BJP won 81 seats, followed by the SP 67 and BSP 34, BSP 34, and the Congress 15.

UP BJP spokesperson Harish Chandra Srivastava said, “Every election is important for the party. It is certain of increasing its standing in NPP as well as NPs that are equally important as those of municipal corporations.”

Sources say BJP has already concentrated in on districts that are crucial from an electoral standpoint of being semi-urban in nature, which is a major element of the BJP’s structure.
