New Delhi, Sep 6 : India and Bangladesh are set to begin talks soon about an economic partnership agreement between the two countries the Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced on Tuesday, after having talks with his visit Bangladesh partner Sheikh Hasina.At a joint press conference following the bilateral talks, Modi in the presence of Hasina She declared that with the expanding of connectivity, the infrastructure of economies of both nations will be boosted.
The Prime Minister also said that India is the largest trade and development partnership of Bangladesh in the region.
For Bangladesh’s exports , too, India is a significant market, he added.
The Prime Minister also explained the need for in the wake of the covid-19 pandemic as well as the current geo-political climate both India and Bangladesh must further develop their economies.
Both leaders opted to strengthen the cooperation in the IT and nuclear sectors.
It was also agreed to continue the efforts being made to protect the common eco-system of the Sundarbans.
The opening of the very first unit of Maitree thermal plant will help in fulfilling the need for power that is affordable of Bangladesh, Modi added.
