Two bodies were found in a the collapsed building in Nigeria’s economic capital

Lagos 4th of September, Lagos : At at least two bodies were found from the rubble of the seven-story building that was under construction that fell in Lagos Nigeria’s financial centre, in the early hours of Sunday.
The bodies were retrieved by rescue teams that were conducting rescue and search operations according to Ibrahim Farinloye, regional coordinator of the National Emergency Management Agency in the southwest region.Xinhua media agency reported, quoting an official.

Six persons were trapped by the structure on the Oba Idowu Oniru street of Lagos fell around 3:00 a.m.local time (0200GMT) on Sunday, Farinloye told Xinhua by phone and said that the recovery operation is ongoing.

He stated that the cause of the collapse was still unclear and an investigation was started.

The instances of collapses of buildings occur regularly in Nigeria local experts blame it on the age of structures and incompatibility with building regulations and plans as well as the use of low-quality materials used in construction.
