Over the past eight years and for the first time the Congress will be running an all-encompassing campaign to take on the Modi government on a massive scale and the campaign will include many of the veteran Congress leaders.

But instead of the Congress flag it will be the only Tricolour will be used during this Yatra.

Beginning at Kanyakumari in Tamil Nadu on September 7th The Congress”Bharat Jodo Yatra will traverse 12 states before settling in Jammu and Kashmir.

This trip of approximately 3,500 km from Kanyakumari and Kashmir will take 150 days to complete, i.e.five months.

Through this yatra Rahul Gandhi as well as others Congress officials will be attacking the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sanghand and criticizing the BJP government.

Their main political focus will be on the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his government.

The way in the manner in which Congress Congress has invited citizens of the civil society to this yatra and people from the general population, it’s evident that in the days ahead there could be a series of fierce political battles as well as counter-attacks against the Congress and the BJP.

The BJP has two main tools -corruption and dynasty rule -to use to politically surround Congress and its top command, i.e., the Gandhi family. The BJP may attempt to take on the Congress on a variety of different issues, however the underlying point of the majority of them is the two fundamental issues.

But, by bringing up these two issues in a series of instances in the past, the BJP has also spoken out against other regional parties too.

It is evident that the more Congress is able to campaign against the Central government and the more it will need to respond to the BJP’s allegations about dynasty rule and corruption and also the BJP on Saturday, through its spokesperson for the party Sambit Patra cornered the Congress.

On Saturday, from blaming Jawaharlal Nehru, to the subject of National Herald scam, Patra in a dig at the Congress’s ‘Bharat Jody Yatra’, referred to it as “Bharat Todo” and claimed that only those who stop corruption will be able to unite the nation. It is ironic that the Congress cannot end corruption, and therefore cannot even unify India.

Informing members of the Congress that Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi were released in jail in the National Herald scam, Patra added that this was not a ‘Bharat Jodo Andolan’, but rather ‘Gandhi Parivar Bachao andolan’.

In quoting the biography of the former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Chandra Bhanu Gupta to attack the Congress on Saturday the BJP even claimed that the National Herald case is not new.

Corruption has been prevalent in the National Herald newspaper since the time of the first Prime Minister of the country, Jawaharlal Nehru and since this time, the Congress has been transferring its money to the newspaper whose only objective is to glorify and praise the Nehru-Gandhi family as well as engage in a campaign against their political opponents.

The BJP’s political position is that opposition parties have the right to protest or even oppose the government, but first Rahul Gandhi has to come forward and face the allegations of corruption.

It is clear from the BJP’s campaign that in the coming days , its senior party officials, spokespersons, and even Union ministers will be confronting the Gandhi family at various forums, and will also ask for answers from them regarding many issues, including the National Herald scam.
