Chandigarh 4th September : Punjab Congress chief Amarinder Singh Raja Warring and his co-worker Sukhpal Singh Khaira have been arrested for fraud after they published the list of chairpersons on a fake letterhead that carried forged signatures of AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal.
The case was filed on Saturday, based on the complaint of AAP’s Mohali district president Prabhjot Kaur under Sections 465 and 471 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and section (D) of section 66 (D) of the Information Technology Act in Phase 1 police station of Mohali near here.
The complainant claimed that she has observed that Raja Warring and Khaira posted an untrue document as a result of Twitter posts on their accounts, which contained the names of chairpersons chosen by the state government.
The list was faked by creating fake letterhead of Aam Aadmi Party and further bearing fake signatures of Kejriwal.
Kaur claimed that as district president of AAP, she personally verified the information at the office of the party in Delhi about the authenticity of the document.It is now her knowledge that this document has been made public by Kejriwal, or any other party official.
“Raja Warring” and Sukhpal Khaira knew deliberately, purposefully and with intent to undermine the image of the party as well as with the intention of creating tension in Punjab had committed this crime of forgery and a fake news magazine with their teasing comments in order to mislead the citizens of Punjab,” the complaint stated.
