Cairo 3rd September : At at least five people were killed and 50 others wounded when a double-decker bus flipped in the governorate of Suez’s northeast.of Suez According to Egyptian police.The accident occurred on the Cairo-Ain Sokhna highway on Friday.All injured were taken to hospitals according to the Emergency Police Operations Room.
In the early hours of Friday 3 people were killed and 10 others were injured when a minibus that was driving illegally through a closed railway crossing point collided with the tracks of a train in the northern Egyptian city of Faqous according local reports in the media.
In Egypt traffic accidents are commonplace and cause the loss of thousands of lives each year.
The majority of the accidents result from the speed of drivers, poor maintenance of roads, and a lack of implementation of traffic rules, Xinhua news agency reported.
In the last several years, Egypt has been upgrading its road network by constructing new bridges and roads as well as repair of old ones to decrease accidents on the road.
