Chennai, 1st of September : Chennai, Sep 1 : Tamil Nadu police have constituted an additional police team to investigate the incident on the AIADMK headquarters on the 11th of July.The complaint was filed by the EdappadiK.
Palaniswami faction of the party, a group headed by O.Panneerselvam had ransacked the office and taken many important documents.
The EPS faction also protested that the attack occurred just as the general council was gathered at Vangaram to select the new office bearers.
The complainant stated that the O.Panneerselvam faction was unhappy that the most of the AIADMK cadres and local leaders have shifted into the EPS faction.
The Tamil Nadu DGP has established an exclusive CB-CID team headed by the Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Venkitesan and will include inspectors Latha, Ramya, Renuka and Selvin Sandhakumar as members.
In the scuffle on July 11 between members of EPS as well as OPS 47 people including two policemen were injured.Numerous cars, buses and two-wheelers suffered damage, and police had taken charge of the situation .They had sealed the office after removing some of those who were protesting.
The Madras High Court had in an historic decision, hearing the petition of O.Panneerselvam, declared the General Council meeting of the AIADMK null and void.
