Chennai 30 Aug : The O.Panneerselvam (OPS) faction of the AIADMK has suffered an affront following the Justice (Rtd) Arumugasamy commission investigating the deaths of the former Chief Minister J.Jayalalithaa, recommended an inquiry into Jayalalithaa’s former assistant, V.K.Sasikala and several others. The Justice (Rtd) Arumugasamny commission report was laid out in the Tamil Nadu legislative Assembly on Monday, and the state government has decided to seek a legal opinions regarding the report.
Notably, M.K.Stalin was during his campaign to win the election of 2021 declared that in the event that the DMK was elected to power, it would launch an extensive investigation into the circumstances that led to the death of J.Jayalalithaa while being treated at a renowned Chennai hospital.
The commission that recommends an inquiry has retracted the efforts of former Chief Minister and AIADMK coordinator O.Panneerselvam to forge an alliance with Sasikala and her nephew T.T.V Dhinakaran to try to take over the party.
Sources in the OPS camp informed IANS that the Chief Minister of the past has put in an awful amount of preparations for a possible collaboration with Sasikala and Dhinakaran and has been working overtime to secure the backing of the powerful Thevar community that they both belonged.
It is worth noting that the majority of Thevar organizations have issued statements that support Panneerselvam as well as the necessity to form an alliance with Sasikala and Dhinakaran.
It is important to note that the three Thevars are all Thevars and The group has served as a steadfast base of support of the AIADMK in South Tamil Nadu.
The Arumugasamy commission’s report now being presented in the House and the report that mentions Sasikala could halt the efforts of OPS to create an alliance.
The second group of the AIADMK that is headed by the former Chief Minister Edappadi K.Palaniswami is well-protected in the party because they hold the support of the majority of the General council members in their support.
In the absence of the backing of Sasikala and Dhinakaran without their support, it is challenging for Panneerselvam to challenge Palaniswami who has the support of the majority of general council members of the party.
