Tehran 28th August : An influential Iranian lawmaker has claimed that Iran and the other parties to the Vienna talks are near to a settlement, but it could require a new round of talks as reported by a news website.Fadahossein Maleki is an elected part of the Iranian Parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Commission stated that “the US has given a response that will lead to the next round of talks inevitable.”
Officials are unable to say when the agreement will be concluded, Maleki said, adding that the US side needs to be more serious than it was in the talks over nuclear issues, Xinhua news agency reported with reference to Iran Front Page news website.
Maleki advised Washington to “act sensibly at this crucial moment and show that the determination to end disagreements”.
On Wednesday the spokesperson of the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Nasser Kanaani, stated that Iran had received via the European Union, the US government’s response to Tehran’s opinions regarding the solution of the issues that remain in the talks regarding the renewal of the nuclear agreement of 2015.
Kanaani stated that Iran began to evaluate the American side’s opinions with care and will notify the EU coordinator of its opinions following the conclusion of its assessments.
Iran agreed to sign the nuclear agreement that is officially referred to as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, with world powers in July 2015.The two sides agreed to limit the nuclear program in exchange for the elimination of sanctions against the country.
However the President Trump was the previous US president Donald Trump pulled Washington out of the agreement and imposed sanctions against Tehran.
The talks about the renewal of the nuclear agreement of 2015 were initiated in April 2021 in Vienna but were halted in March due to of differences in the political landscape between Tehran and Washington.
The most recent session of talks on nuclear energy conducted in Vienna, the capital city of Austria.Vienna in the beginning of August following an absence of five months.
On August 8th the European Union put forward a “final text” of the draft decision on reviving the nuclear agreement.
