Hyderabad 27 August : BJP national president J.P.Nadda on Saturday made a call to former cricketer Mithali Raj here, in what is seen as a second attempt by the saffron-colored party to attract celebrities to its family.Nadda met with the former captain of India women’s team at the Novotel Hotel at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Shamshabad.
The meeting took place shortly after Nadda arrived in the city.
He then left to Hanamkonda to speak at a public gathering to mark the conclusion of Praja Sangrama Yatra of BJP State President Bandi Sanjay Kumar.
Following the conference, Nadda tweeted that he enjoyed a great conversation with Mithali Raj.He tweeted that it was touching to hear her appreciation for the boost that sportspersons are receiving under the direction of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The BJP president stated that she was grateful for the personal assistance and guidance given by Prime Minister.
Mithali Raj Mithali Raj, one of Indian cricket’s greatest cricketers has retired from international cricket in June of this year.Born in Rajasthan, she lives in Hyderabad.
Mithali Raj, too, used Twitter to express her appreciation to Nadda for her meeting.”It was a pleasure to interact with Nadda,” she wrote adding that with the guidance, support and encouragement provided by the Prime Minister athletes across the country have been able to win the glory of our nation.
Although the BJP leadership was quiet about the motive of the gathering, it was held amid the efforts by the BJP to attract celebrities to its ranks in both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
Nadda is expected to get to know Tollywood actor Nitin on Saturday night at the same hotel following his return from Hanamkonda.
The meeting with two famous people come to the following of the union minister of home Amit Shah’s meet with the well-known actor Junior NTR in Hyderabad.
Shah had called Junior NTR on August 21 after addressing a meeting of the public in Munugode Assembly constituency, which became vacant following the resignation of Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy.The Congress leader was a member of the BJP in the public meeting.
Although BJP leaders have claimed that politics were not discussed during Shah’s discussion with NTR It’s not a secret that the saffron-colored party is in the hunt of certain charismatic figures to win over voters and build its support base in the two Telugu states, particularly in Telangana in which Assembly elections are scheduled for next year.
