New Delhi, Aug 24 : As part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav to highlight the struggle for freedom in India the Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting Anurag Singh Thakur launched on Wednesday Azadi Quest, a collection of mobile games that are online and educational created in partnership with Zynga India.Following the event, Thakur said that the move is part of an array of initiatives from the government to recognize the sacrifices of our freedom fighters as well as heroes of the struggle for freedom.
“These games are a way to reach out to the vast market of online gamers and teach them through games.The various branches of the government have gathered information on the untold freedom fighters from all corners of the nation.
Azadi Quest is an effort to make the study of this information enjoyable and fun,” Thakur said.
The minister was confident that the public of all ages will be hooked by these games that will become popular household games.
The rising Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming and Comics (AVGC) sector in India Thakur said it’s been a constant endeavor of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting to support the AVGC sector in India.
“In the last couple of years, India has risen to rank among the top five nations in the gaming industry.
The gaming industry increased by 28 percent in 2021 all by itself.The number of gamers online has increased by 8 percent between 2020 to 2021, and by 2023 , the number of gamers will be predicted to be at 45 million,” he said.
The minister also said the apps would increase the capability of the AVGC sector and also transfer our glorious heritage to other corners of the globe.
The initial game in the series is ‘AzadiQuest Match 3 Puzzle A simple and simple to play game that will provide players with the vibrant adventure of India’s Independence from 1857 until 1947.
However, ‘AzadiQuest: Heroes of Bharat’ is designed as a game of quiz game that tests the knowledge of players on the heroism of India’s freedom struggle through 75 questions that span 750 levels.
