New Delhi, Aug 24 : Congress President Sonia Gandhi will be traveling abroad to undergo medical checks The party announced in a statement, adding that Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi will accompany her on the trip. “Congress President Sonia Gandhi will be traveling to the United States for medical checkups, she will also visit her mother who is ill before she goes back to Delhi,” party General Secretary Jairam Ramesh said in a statement.
“Rahul Gandhi as well as Priyanka Gandhi Vadra are scheduled to be traveling with the Congress President,” it added.
However, the rally scheduled on September 4 will be addressed by Rahul Gandhi.
In advance of the Delhi rally and ‘Bharat Jodyo Yatra The Congress is planning a media blitz with press gatherings of top leaders in the capital cities of the state to draw attention to the issue of unemployment and inflation in the nation.
According to Congress leaders that the party will host a press conference on August 29 for the ‘Dilli Chalo, Halla Bol’ rally and on September 5 to celebrate the ‘Bharat Jody Yatra’.
The party is planning to concentrate on the rally that is scheduled in Delhi and the yatra that will run for 3,500 kilometers.
The Congress has postponed its planned “Mehangai Par Halla Bol” gathering scheduled for August 28-September 4.This is due to the ongoing Covid conditions in the capital city of India.
