Hyderabad 23 August : Hyderabad, Aug 23 : BJP in Telangana Tuesday requested the intervention of Governor Tamilisai soundararajan following a state police order that instructed the party to immediately end the Praja Sangrama Yatra.A group of BJP leaders met with Governor Raj Bhavan and presented an oath, urging her to request the Director General of Police (DGP) to allow the padyatra to go on and to provide security.
BJP MP K.Laxman K.Laxman, executive member of the national party Vijayashanti and vice-president of the party D.K.Aruna and other leaders met with the Governor and demanded an investigation into the unlawful arrest of the state BJP Chief Bandi Sanjay and the circumstances that caused the Yatra being stopped.
The BJP leaders claimed that some TRS MLAs as well as MLCs conspired to strike at the padyatra in Jangaon district.
They also requested a probe into the suspected attack against BJP workers by police as well as TRS activists in Hyderabad on Monday.
Laxman reported to journalists that the TRS government has stopped the padyatra in order to divert attention away from the liquor fraud in Delhi in the sense that it was involving the Chief Minister K.Chandrasekhar Rao’s daughter as well as TRS MLA K.Kavitha.
Vijayashanti has questioned the silence of KCR since the Chief Minister is well known, in relation to the allegations made against his daughter.
The BJP delegation met with the Governor following the incident when the police in Jangaon district had directed BJP leaders to stop the padyatra that was being conducted by Bandi Sanjay because there was suspicion of the breach of peace.
On Tuesday the police detained Bandi Sanjay in Jangaon district as he was getting ready to sit on a protest at the police action against BJP workers in Hyderabad on Monday, for staging a demonstration in front of the home of Kavitha in protest of her suspected involvement in the liquor fraud in Delhi.
Sanjay who is a Member of the Parliament from Karimnagar was transferred to Karimnagar.
He was later put in a house under arrest.
