New Delhi, Aug 13 : The Congress presidential election is scheduled to begin this month, but there’s no information yet about Rahul Gandhi’s position, as he resigned his post in 2019 and resigned the responsibility.It appears that Congress is considering other names , too.

The Congress Working Committee members have repeatedly asked Rahul Gandhi to assume the role as President of the party however he has been reticent.The senior Congress leader Ambika Soni said: “All the members agreed in their belief that Rahul Gandhi should assume the role as the president of the Congress party.” The CWC has given its approval for the internal elections of the party.
The CWC has approved the elections for the organisation and the date was set.
The selection of the PCC President and Vice President, Treasurer as well as PCC Executive and AICC Members by the PCC general body is scheduled to end on August 20th.
The election of the AICC president is scheduled to take place between August 21 and 20 September.
The elections of CWC members as well as other bodies by AICC members at the beginning of the session (date to be announced later) is most likely to take place in September and October.
