UP Police to celebrate I-Day week in grand style

Lucknow 10 August : The Uttar Pradesh Police will celebrate "Azadi Mahotsav" to mark the 75th anniversary of Indian Independence with an all-day celebrationAccording to the official spokesperson the celebrations will start with the police as well as Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) bands singing patriotic songs at shaheed smaraks (martyr memorials) throughout the state from August 11 until 17.

On the 13th of August on the 13th of August, a marathon is held in which all PAC and police officers will parade the Tricolour to all important locations of the districts in the state.The next day, 75 top students in the state would be awarded in their districts by police as well as PAC units.

On August 15th all battalions will raise flags, and a day later the water units in the PAC battalion will fly the Tricolour on their boats.The 17th of August was the 17th day of the celebration, a race of female police officers will be organized by PAC and police in the state.

The prisons department is busy in the making of two lakh Tricolours as a part of the "Har Ghar Tiranga campaign.Flags are to be sold in the market with the assistance of local NGOs and district administrators.

The preparations for celebrating Independence Day on a grand scale in all 64 jails have already begun.amita/shb.
