More ministers could be elected on Tuesday, which is a day in advance of the monsoon Session of Maharashtra Legislature which is expected to begin on Wednesday.

Shinde and Fadnavis were sworn in on June 30, one day after the former Maha Vikas Aghadi regime headed by Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray fell apart and run a two-man state for the last 40 days.

The pair had a meeting about the subject on Monday just a couple of days after they went to New Delhi to meet the Bharatiya Janata Party top leaders to resolve the controversial issue of expanding the cabinet.

The Shinde-Fadnavis government is in the crosshairs of the leader of Opposition Ajit Pawar as well as the Nationalist Congress Party, Congress and Shiv Sena leaders for the delay in the formation of the cabinet, resulting in the administration of the state has been unable to function.
