Mumbai 8th August : Hollywood star Nicolas Cage was not keen on playing himself in the action-comedy film The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent’ which is due to release on OTT.The film directed by the duo Tom Gormican and Kevin Etten is a sincere, genuine and hilarious love letter to the actor.It provides a fun and entertaining look at the life of the actor.
In discussing his initial reluctance to be a part of the film, Nicolas said: “I was not interested in acting as myself in the film.Then I got an extremely nice letter from Tom and went through the script.The first act was extremely frightening to me when I was through the third and fourth acts I was thinking Tom is taking us on a journey that’s quite thrilling.”
The story revolves around the fictionalized version of the actor who is compelled to live up to his legend by channelling his most famous and beloved character in an effort to save his beloved ones.
He also explained how Tom Gormican’s fascinating and off-kilter ideas pulled his attention in: “I call Tom “The Mind The Mind’ because the movie is really his dream which is based on his impressions in the media and online as well as incidents in my own life that have become public.
“It’s mixed with the knowledge of interviews I’ve conducted and other things that always fascinated me and led me to this route.The film is an imaginative of Tom’s perception of what my life could look like.”
