The memorandum, which was sent by Nagaland Governor Jagdish Mukhi, stated the Naga residents are in the 25th year of the political negotiations between the government of India and the Naga negotiators. The negotiations began in 1997.

The endless political process has negatively changed the lives of everyone and their families in Naga.

“It has taken a major impact on the whole system of governance.

The political stalemate has resulted in an unprecedented pattern of corruption at every level that has hampered education, public health and infrastructure development in general which are in disarray for obvious reasons, to say the least.

“The not-solved Naga issue has resulted in a plethora of thieves and scoundrels.in the name of political issues, threats and intimidation have slowed the development of the perceived Naga society that you (PM) assured that it would be vibrant,” the memorandum read.

The NPAC informed the Prime Minister the economic well-being of every day Naga families has totally deteriorated in the absence of an equitable welfare formula or governance beyond paper, the implications are terrifying to say the least.

“The most enduring victims are the extremely educated students, those who are unemployed, dropouts from school and all those whose lives are now in jeopardy.

The creation of assets and entrepreneurship are crucial elements in the same way as in our society.Government projects are taken away with impunity by way of shares and percentage cuts.Private businesses are being targeted by armed groups.” said the memorandum that was signed by six of the top NPAC leaders.

Many Naga organizations and civil society groups took part or supported the widely talked about rally.

The memorandum stated that without a political solution the NPAC expects to see thousands of young, fresh, and untold highly-qualified, and angry men and women who will use guns to confront those who are stifling their progress and growth.

“Your (PM) commitment to the Nagas has not yet been fulfilled.Prime Minister Sir, is this not a blunder to our people, when discussions with Naga groups are officially over,” the NPAC asked.

The Naga group stated that the ceasefire as well as the political negotiations that are conducted under its peaceful atmosphere are nothing only a means of bringing the war for a conclusion.

“We hope that the administration of India to be grateful for the patience of Nagaland’s citizens of Nagaland that they have shown in the past 25 years of waiting for peace in the region, and this could be achieved in through a political solution on its own,” the memorandum read.

The NPAC stated that in 2018, when civil society as well as all political parties, including the BJP have unambiguously demanded solutions prior to elections The BJP broke the faith of the public and submitted nominations with the slogan “Election for a Solution” in opposition to the wishes and will of the people that are in a state of freshness in their minds.

The upcoming Assembly elections in Nagaland is scheduled to take place in February of next year, is deemed to be crucial in light of the current Naga peace talks that are taking place between the Central government as well as the Naga groups, specifically Naga’s National Socialist Council of Nagalim (Isak-Muivah).

All political parties and the government of the state are determined to settle the Naga issue prior to the Assembly elections.

The NSCN-IM’s insisting on a separate Naga flag and constitution has become a major obstacle in the process of solving the Naga issue.
