3 grain vessels sail out of the Ukraine’s Black Sea ports

Kiev 5 Aug : Three cargo vessels that were carrying grain left Ukraine’s Black Sea ports of Odesa and the port of Chornomorsk on Friday the Minister of Infrastructure Alexander Kubrakov announced.
“The first cargo ship carrying Ukrainian grain has left the ports of Greater Odessa,” Kubrakov said.

The vessels are believed to be carrying 57,000 tons of maize, according to the DPA news agency.

The ships are said to be the Turkish freighter Polarnet, also known as the Navi Star which is sailing under the flag of Panama as well as the Rojen which is operating under the Maltese flag.

According to Ukrainian authorities The ships will first travel to Istanbul for inspection , before moving proceed to Britain and Ireland.

The Fulmar S that is unladen sailing under the Barbadian flag was said by the Turkish Defence Ministry to have left Istanbul after having been inspected and is headed to Chornomorsk.

The first grain-carrying freighter that left the Ukrainian port following a month-long blockade the Razoni was able to leave Odesa on Monday, also carrying maize.

After an inspection that took place through a corridor that was agreed upon by the two warring sides, the corridor was checked in the Bosporus off Istanbul before moving on towards Tripoli, the Lebanese port of Tripoli.

The shipment is thought to be crucial to stabilize grain prices on the global market amid fears of the threat of famine in the Middle East and Africa.

Kiev has at present limited sailings to just three per day due to security reasons.
