Ottawa, January 1, : , Canada will resettle Afghan female judges and their families who fled Afghanistan after the Taliban took control, a spokesperson for Canada’s immigration minister stated on Saturday.According to The Khaama News Agency, 230 relatives will be relocated.
The ministry also plans to relocate gay, lesbians, transgender and bisexual people who were referred by third-party aid organisations.
Khaama Press says that the date of the relocation for judges and family members remains unclear.
Khaama Press reports that Canada has so far resettled 3 915 Afghans through the Canadian government and 2,535 more on humanitarian grounds.Canada also has promised to shelter up to 40,000 Afghan refugees.
After the Taliban took control, thousands fled Afghanistan and the US pulled out its forces at Kabul International Airport.
