This is a record set since the French pandemic.It brings the total number of Covid-19-related cases in France to 9,972,800.According to Xinhua, it is now the third consecutive day France has reported a daily total of more than 200,000 coronavirus infections.
According to the agency, more than 18,000 people are currently being admitted and 3,543 remain in intensive care units.
Paris’ Regional Health Agency of Ile-de-France called for all hospitals to delay non-urgent procedures Friday in an effort to preserve Omicron patient beds at intensive care units.
The French Public Health Agency reported that 62.4 percent of Covid-19 positive test results in the past five days were due to Omicron on French territory.Only 15% of the positive results on December 13 were Omicron-related.
