Mumbai, December 30, : , Ajay devgn, a filmmaker and actor, is celebrating the success of his movie Tanhaji – The Unsung Warriors.It has grossed over Rs 3.67 billion globally and closed at Rs 280 cr in India. “Tanhaji-The Unsung Warrior” closed at Rs.280 crore over the past two years, and Akshay Kumar’s recent film, “Sooryavanshi”, also reached Rs.195 crore.This gives Indian producers reason to be happy.
Reports indicate that ‘Tanhaji-The Unsung Warriors’ earned Rs 3.67 trillion ($49 million) globally and was deemed a blockbuster at box-office.It also holds the distinction of becoming the most successful Bollywood movie of 2020.
Ajay spoke out about Tanhaji, which dominated the box office for the past two years.He said that Tanhaji was unique because of its patriotic spirit and superb dialogue.It also featured amazing performances by Kajol Khan and Saif Ali Khan.”I put my heart and soul into it.”
Star is pleased that the warrior received his due.
He said, “I am so glad this unsung hero got his due at Indian box-office and was appreciated worldwide.”
Taran Adarsh, a trade analyst shared his experience with IANS.He said that AjayDevgn promised from the beginning that Tanhaji: Unsung Warriors would be hugely successful.
It had everything that drew audiences to the theater – brilliant story, great execution, amazing star cast, exceptional VFX, and so on.It was a worldwide blockbuster, grossing Rs 3.67 trillion ($49 million).
Adarsh said that it not only caused a stir in the country but also gained international recognition.
His words were: “It has been nearly two years since the film ‘Tanhaji’ achieved the same success that it did at the box office, but was also well-received by audiences around the world.” Indian cinema is waiting for the moment when movies would set records, like AjayDevgn’s “Tanhaji” did.
Om Raut directed the film, which also features Saif Ali Khan and Kajol as well as Sharad Kelkar and Luke Kenny.
It is set in 17th-century India.”Tanhaji: The Unsung Warriors” revolves around Tanaji, the warrior who tries to recapture Kondhana’s fortress after it falls to Aurangzeb, the Mughal emperor.He then transfers control of the Kondhana fortress to Udaybhan Singh Rathore, his trusted Rajput general.
