Japan provides Covid-19 booster shots to all by weighing in: PM

Tokyo, 29 December : , Fumio Kishhida, Japan’s Prime Minister, has stated that the government will provide Covid-19 vaccine booster shot for as many people as possible.Kyodo News reports.
In an interview on Tuesday with Kyodo news, Kishida stated that anti-virus protections in the country will soon be fully functional so citizens can feel secure.

Japan began giving the third shot to its healthcare staff at the start of December.

Senior citizens and the general population will be following suit from February 2022.

At December’s end, the rate at which people finished two shots was 77%

Although the Omicron version of Covid-19 infection has been relatively low in Japan, there have been some cases in Japan where community infections were confirmed.

Since November, the government offered PCR and antigen tests for free and banned foreigners entering these areas.

The Japanese Prime Minister said, “We’d love to consider bringing forward (the schedule of third shots) as much as we can,” adding that 31 million elderly and healthcare workers are included.
